The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a wide tree-planting campaign, attended by Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, along with a group of faculty members and students, aiming to increase green spaces on campus and promote environmental awareness among students.
The campaign included planting various trees and plants across outdoor areas and walkways, in addition to delivering awareness messages on the importance of afforestation in improving the climate, reducing pollution, and enhancing the aesthetic environment of the university.
The College emphasized that this initiative is part of its annual plan to improve the campus environment, noting that the active participation of faculty members and students reflects a strong commitment to volunteerism and environmental responsibility.
The event concluded with an affirmation of continued efforts to implement similar campaigns that support green spaces and encourage sustainable environmental practices within the University. Aligned with SDGs 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, 13: Climate Action, and 15: Life on Land.
